It seems like just yesterday we were at Ignite Youth Camp and waving our team flags and ‘going bananas.’ There has been so much to process and think through. Thankfully we had a top notch team and some phenomenal photographs from Craig Thompson to help us relive the week we spent at this camp.
For those of you who don’t know about the camp- we spent August 10-20th hosting our first youth camp in Amboseli near Mount Kilimanjaro in Kenya. We brought 30 girls together from several schools we work within for 2 nights and 3 days and when they went home 36 boys from several schools we work within came for the same time period. We had a chance to give these kids their first ever ‘church camp experience’ and what an experience it was!
God was so apparent and strong through the young girls and the boys that came to camp. Most of those attending camp have come from extremely tough backgrounds- abuse, neglect, completely orphaned and lack anyone to show them the love of Christ. So many of you invested your generosity and prayers into specific children for this camp so we knew God was going to move mountains here. We had all kinds of things planned for these kids and couldn’t wait to explode that all over them!
The Lord showed up in epic proportions and the team was humbled by:
…the team bonding that happened through Color Wars
…the awe on their faces during their first time on safari
…the power through the prayers, repentance and anointing
…the movement through the teachings
…and the miracle through 47 baptisms.
We would love to share stories and more powerful pictures of how the Lord worked and moved at Ignite Youth Camp.
Come by September 22nd at 6:30pm at The Rev. If you are unable to attend the event please subscribe here so we can ensure that you receive the newsletter.
Thank you one million times over to each of you that prayed, wrote letters of encouragement, supported kids to attend camp or gave toward a team member’s trips. Your investment had returns tenfold that we will all see on the other side of heaven. It is hard to put into words all that happened in those ten days and we keep coming back to “extreme thankfulness”.
**Special Thanks to Craig Thompson at Disciple Photo for all of the beautiful photography!
