Guess What!!!?? We have ANOTHER guest coming from Kenya! Any ideas?
Well friends.. Wait no longer! Coming to ya from Kenya is Britney Njeri, 17 years old and daughter to Priscilla our BFR Kids Coordinator and Papers of Peace Manager! Britney is in Form 3 at Mugoiri Girls High School and one of our incredibly promising BFR Kids. She excels in all her studies and we know that, just like her mother, she will change the course of those around her and her country as well.
Growing up, Britney learned about hard work from being raised by a single mom. She watched her mom work hard to get out of Kibera slum, become a headteacher, go to university to finish her degree and even watched her mom even run for a political position in Kenya. Britney was born with a fierce drive and has carried that into all that she does. She was born with a heart of compassion and deep love for the Lord that she has carried with her into secondary school (high school). As soon you meet her she leaves an imprint because you know she is a leader and that she is on the path to greatness. You will see, if you haven’t met her yet, what I mean.
This will be Britney’s first trip on an airplane and to the United States so we asked her a few questions about what she is most excited about!
- What are you most excited about in coming to the America for the first time? One main thing that I am excited about is that my dream of coming to America has come true and I’ll get to meet all the BFR leaders who equip me with lots of leadership skills and good character.
- What do you think it will be like? I think it will be the best experience because I really love what I read about America and all it contains especially around Tennessee.
- What is one thing you hope to do in America? I hope that I’ll impact people’s lives.
- If you could say one thing to BFR and their supporters what would it be? They were brought into my life by God with the purpose of relighting the glory of leadership in me which is the thing I enjoy so much and it makes me be the most outstanding person in school.
When I asked her these questions, knowing she has never been on an airplane or out of Kenya, I expected her answers to maybe be about things she might want to see or eat when she gets here. But then she answers that the one thing she hopes to do is impact others- I beamed and felt humbled by this because I knew she was genuine. Trust me- You do not want to miss the chance to meet her and her mom Priscilla at our Share My Story event. Your ticket and table purchases directly impact these two women because of our work in Be Free Revolution.
If you or your business are interested in becoming an event sponsor email email@example.com. I can’t tell you how much that helps the work we are doing to support women like Priscilla and students like Britney.
Share My Story is November 9th at 6:30pm and will not only highlight these two special women but it will celebrate the work that, together, we have done over the last 6+ years and we hope it serves as a night to encourage you that there is light, good, and positive change happening in the world.
If we have learned anything over the years, we know for certain that when we give the tools to success to those lacking opportunity they will change those around them, generations to come, their community, their country and therefore the world. This is why we continue to do the work we do in education, empowerment, feeding, counseling, and more. We have seen it work and these 2 women are prime examples of that. People matter. Period. We can all do something to help others with the time we have on this planet. Make this event your invitation to step into an opportunity to see, hear, and be a part of real life change.
Please join us in making a difference in people’s lives that we have been shepherding, sacrificing for, and believing in to be the good the world so desperately needs. We can’t do it without your support.
The evening will include dinner, drinks, an INCREDIBLE live and silent auction featuring things from vacation giveaways, Grizzlies tickets to photography sessions and more, PLUS entertainment by The Will Tucker Band!
Hurry and snag your tickets because seats and tables are filling up fast!
