Unity: Hannah Pitner
For me, this word comes from Ephesians 4, a call for us to unify as believers in Christ. Unfortunately we are often so divided by so many different things. My husband and I are so excited for the opportunity to go to Indonesia this summer with our main goal being unifying the church.
This is a very unique mission trip because the goal is to connect our church with a fairly new church plant of ours in Indonesia. These are not poor people in need of our help, but rather higher class people with whom we will serve along side and to work together as a family.
We will hold a VBS with the church members to welcome others from their community into the church, host an English club as a way to reach out to a different and often forgotten part of the community and visit some neighboring villages.
My prayer is that through this trip, we would bring unity among believers of Jesus in completely different contexts and opposite sides of the world. I pray that my heart would be softened as I learn from them. I also pray that unity is something we all seek no matter where we live.
